DansePhoto, when Ballet, photos and new century meet!

Ballet Quote : Hardly any man dances when sober, unless he is insane.
Nor does he dance while alone, nor at a respectable and moderate party.
Dancing is the final phase of a wild party with fancy decorations and a multitude of delights.{Nemo enim fere saltat sobrius, nisi insanit, neque in solitudine neque in convivio moderato et honesto. tempestivi convivi, amoeni loci, multarum deliciarum comes est extrema saltatio.} - Marcus Tullius Cicero, Pro Murena

Welcome on dansephoto.com, where you can freely see more than ballet photos.

Ballet (r)evolution ?

Welcome in a new era !

Yes, this new century is a new era. Internet, Mobile Phones, GPS, computers and plenty of other things make this new century, this new millenium probably one of the most stunning of all the human history.
Why would not ballet be a part of this evolution ? Does art need to remain "in the past" to remain an art ?

We, at dansephoto.com, consider ballet as an always changing and evolving art. We think that, if ballet has crossed centuries, it is because it has always been active and changing. Do we still dance as we did in the 18th century ? Absolutely not !

More and more, we can find cross topic pictures, with a basis of ballet, but an added "sexy" touch, as to make it appear more human
Two Feet, Ballet This image is a form of ballet representation, as any image can be. Purist and "old timers" will consider that ballet need to remain as it was before, and keep showing this sort of ballet image ;
Kellytutu.jpg
Ok, it is nice, it is pretty, cute, blah blah blah ... But is it in phase with the era ? Is this girl showing her real herself, who she really is and what she really thinks ?
Sure, she does not !

We prefershowing photos with probably a less quality, a less technical expression, but showing real people, performing real things that look like who they are
After work what they think !

So, now, on Dansephoto.com, our photos will be less "ballet centric", but will become with time more and more "people centric". Yes, the main topic will remain ballet, but in a less balletistic manner, we want to pushe the photo in DansePhoto.

And we think ballet needs to be less egocentric to keep going with the future !!

So, in short, keep the pointe shoes, keep the tiaras, but wear colours, wear fashion clothes, dance in the street ... in one word, live your ballet, let ballet be your life, but never let ballet's life be yours !

You can consider those photos as "shocking", not ballet or whatever, but look at them twice, you will see that they are ballet related, they show ballet. Ok, in a different way, under an alternative angle, but they remain ballet !

Let me watch Colour(s) Usefull ?

Enjoy,
Audrey & Olivier
